Summary: CodeHumanist is a read-only platform. We collect your email address to manage waitlist communications, and we connect to your code repositories with read-only access to generate comprehension reports. We do not sell your data. We do not modify your code. Ever.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Email address — when you join our waitlist or create an account
  • Name — if you choose to provide it during registration
  • Company / role — optional, provided during sign-up
  • Communications — content of emails or messages you send us

2.2 Repository Data (when you connect a codebase)

  • We request read-only access to your code repositories
  • We read source code structure, file contents, dependency configurations, and metadata solely to generate comprehension reports
  • We do not write to, modify, delete, or execute code in your repositories
  • Repository data is processed transiently and is not permanently stored beyond what is needed to generate and cache your reports

2.3 Usage Data

  • Pages visited, features used, session duration
  • Browser type, operating system, general geographic region
  • IP address (anonymised after processing)
  • Referring URL

2.4 Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website. GA4 collects anonymised usage data. You can opt out via browser extensions or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

  • We do not use your repository data to train AI models without your explicit consent
  • We do not share your repository data with other customers

We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform, including:

  • Cloud infrastructure providers (hosting and computation)
  • Email service providers (transactional and marketing emails)
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics — anonymised data only)
  • AI/LLM providers (for generating comprehension reports — governed by data processing agreements)

All third-party providers are contractually required to protect your data and are prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Instilligent Limited or others.

  • Waitlist emails: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
  • Account data: retained for the duration of your account plus 12 months after closure
  • Repository data: processed transiently; cached reports retained for the period of your active subscription or until you delete them
  • Usage analytics: retained for up to 26 months in aggregated, anonymised form

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format

Instilligent Limited is based in New Zealand. New Zealand has been recognised as providing adequate data protection under applicable international frameworks. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. Repository access tokens are stored with encryption and are scoped to read-only permissions.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
